Has anyone noticed how some will make a pretty well thought out or at least some thing of value to contribute to the topic and as you read through it you are starting to see the point he is making as you continue to the end then he does a 180 and devalues the complete posting by saying "thats my .02 cents worth " or he will start a diatribe to Mr. Goodwrench apologizing for any thing he said that might be controversial or that may have stepped on some ones feelings who might be in disagreement.
If you have some thing to contribute and you believe in what you are saying, stand up and defend it, don't coware and weasel around it, if you believe it is only worth $.02 then don't bother to post, your time and my time are worth far more than that. As long as you play by the rules and on this forum that is the rules of the road as layed out by Fred, don't worry about who agrees and who might disagree. They will in short time let you know their feelings especially if they disagree. This may be just one of my personal pet peeves, just as I like to embellish the word " HAM " to emphasize its importance to me, some get peeved at that. #Anyway if you have something to say to contribute to the the topic think about it, and say it, if some one disagrees it may be constructive criticism or it may be more BS, you decide, the latter is not unusual. You always have the right to update your opinion if some one can offer updated material, but don't try to weasel out of what you believe to be true. And don't be intimidated when you are heaped upon with piles of ignorance, for some that is all they have to offer. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Orv, when I say my $.02, it has much more value here than in the US.
I could also say my 300 vietnam dongs. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
More seriousely, sometimes I think black, and others show me white. Well, if the other can show me that white is correct, then I would say white.... except in politics, with my wife or with you.
those were my 295 VND (the dollar went down again)

Orv,
It is called political correctness and it has infilitrated just about every facet of our society. It's a shame, even where I work people are now hesitant to voice their true opinions for fear of being called on the carpet.
KFC,
I heard the "Kentucky Fried Chicken" phonetics several times during field day operations... Could that have been you??

That wasn't me. I worked 100% CW for field day last year. I had to help out a fellow ham. Turns out he was put in charge of the CW station for field day and could only find 2 other CW ops in the club who were willing to work it.
I did do some casual operating during the CQ SSB contest. Boy did I earn a lot of nickels that weekend!

Absolutely correct. The people Orv is talking about are in the upper third of the voice your honest opinion spectrum though. If Orv is a 10 on the scale of having no reservations of speaking his mind then the people he is talking about are 7s. 6s will post but extremely rarely and the bottom 50% are too correct to ever post at all. Not the land of rugged individualists we are supposed to be are we? Wimps........Osama has it right...."American men have been deprived of their manhood".

However, "speaking your mind" on QRZ.com only goes so far! If you violate "no-POP" (the acronym that I came up for illustrating the "rules of the road" on this site - "no profanity, no obscentities, and no personal attacks") then you will get "slapped down" in a hurry by the staff!

N3TTN,
Well Scott thank you for taking the time from your obviously busy schedule to offer your conribution, and yes I would say you valued the price pretty accurately.
You see Scott I have already put in my 50 years,so I have earned the right to schedule my time as I see fit. Do I have excess time on my hands ,actually not,I could easily use another 8 hours a day to attend all the activities I attempt to engage in.You in all probability will offer another 20 years before you are in that position, but never fear, there is some one out there who appreciates all you contribute to taxes and to feeding and care of our great economy.

Orv,
What you ask for may be impossible is some (a lot?) cases. In order to speak one's mind, one must be able to use one's mind. And by observation in the world in general, and the government in particular (and thats all levels of government), I would say there are a lot of minds that haven't been used in years if ever.
And I don't give a s*** what anyone says, Political Correctness is not only a social disease but also the world's longest 4 letter word.
