If those of us who know better just get on the air and "do the right thing," we will be emulated. That alone would sway a large number of new hams, showing them the way.
Anything extra is even better.

Lets seee.....I found an illegal CB'er and pinned his coax, broke his mobile whip, keyed his truck, slapped his wife, shot his dog, burned down his outhouse, and turned him in to the IRS. Do I now qualify for life membership??????

Encouraged fellow hams looking to upgrade to go for it and offered to help out in anyway possible.
"Okay, tell us what you really think." #this is what the TALK AND OPINIONS forum is about. #Some will agree with a posting, some will not. #The right to express an opinion can never be subordinated to a concern that some may not agree. DAN, K3XR

I haven't walked away from amateur radio shaking my head as many have done. I hope it has a future, and most of the bad blood will reduce to insignificance.

The fact that I have no remedy for all the sorrows of the world is
no reason for my accepting yours. It simply supports the strong
probability that yours is a fake...............H. L. MENCKEN

What am I doing to set a good example? After this past week; to never respond on a thread that doesn't show some semblance of maturity, decorum and DECENCY regardless of what I think about it.
Out.
As for ham radio in general, to continue to strive to be the best op that I can be and to teach my 2 'students' to be the same.
It's not much but thats all my humble little self has on that one....
