Fellow hams and amateurs.
I am sorry to those I may have offended by some of my ranting on the latest that the ARRL has given us. #I have nothing against techs, I spend most of my time talking to them (yes I am nice believe it or not) when working with them. #I am concerned not so much with the code requirement but what seems the attack on the written tests. #Yes, many techs are very intellegent on the written tests, they just don't #do code if you will. #That is fine, I believe in the code test, but that is just me.
I have been helping a few techs approach the code with less fear as well as the written test. #I know I at times offend people with the way I say things even though I mean different, to those persons I appologize for being so pig headed.
I would like to see current techs receive HF privs in both data/code and voice. #The novice privs with maybe the removal of the power requirements as a great way to start. #For those wanting general, element 3 and you have it. #I just don't want to see element 3 by passed by so many. #Yes it may be similar to the element 2 but is still important. #The idea of leaving the extra the same is not too bad, I am undecided on the code for the extra.
I truely enjoy amateur radio and would like to keep it a fun hobby and useful service to everyone.
I get a little steamed (ok too much so) up at the thought of just handing out privs without so much as a written test as per what is been petitioned.
I once again appologize to anyone that I may have offended particulary those who are trying to earn their upgrades though studying.
