Since I've been reading the posts on QRZ I've noticed a few folks have sayings at the end of their posts to provoke thought.

What's your favorite?

I like:

"The reason lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place is that the same place isn't there the second time."

That is funny I have never thought about that saying like that. But I guess that is true lightning never strikes twice in the same place.

So I have a question why do people get struck more than once. Hum. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

The only reason that lightning "never strikes in the same place twice" as Steve says is because at least some "microns" are burned away everytime it strikes. Now, for all "practical" reasons, lightning strikes the same place quite often!

There are towers, buildings, even trees on hilltops that get struck almost every time a charged air mass moves through the area.

People who think lightning does not strike the same place
twice, or even a zillion times, have *NEVER* owned a
repeater on a mountain top! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

There is no worldly problem to large that cannot be solved with the suitable force of high explosives.

When lightning makes you a conductor count the electrons going by.

Lightning doesnt hit or strike the ground. It come out of the ground. Unless if you can prove to me that the cloud was more negative than the ground is. Are you positive?
