What has been the general consensus? What should I look out for in this radio? What common problems are they known to have? Thanks.

Brian:
I own one of these wonderful rigs and have had nothing but excellent signal and audio reports everywhere.
This is one of the highest quality rigs you'll ever find.
If you get it you will be very happy with it. #
It is a BIG rig, but it is solid in feel and operation.
This rig sounds great on AM and FM too!
Punch in "ic-765 reviews" in the internet and read all of them. This should give you a closer idea. It's a KEEPER.

I bought my 765 new from R&L at the Dayton Hamvention in 1989, and it has been back to ICOM a couple of times for minor stuff, but has been a great radio just the same. Most have probably had the upgrades and Service Bulletin items done by now, so that is a plus.

It performs incredibly well and I cannot think of a newer radio to replace my IC-765 that would do a better job for me.

My only problem is that I do not have enough time to spend on HF http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif .
