I travel usually once a month to visit my kids and grandkids. #When I travel I take my Kenwood THK-2AT HT with me for ragchewing in the hotel room. #My problem was using an antenna. #I would sometimes bring in my mobile antenna and attach it to an spare mount. #Unfortunately when I traveled by plane that was not an option.

Problem solved. #I purchased the 2 meter tiny dipole from Ham Antenna Ham Antenna Link (http://www.hamantenna.com). #This antenna can handle up to 100 watts and works perfectly. #I have some suction cups with plastic hooks and I use them to mount the antenna on the hotel window. #I also sometimes use a 35 watt amplifier with my HT and the results are quite amazing.

I also recommend this antenna for apartment/condo dwellers. #I have used it in my shack by mounting it on the wall with push pins. #The radio I use with it is the ICOM 910H. #Again, the results were amazing.

The antenna is made in Canada, so expect to wait a couple of weeks for it, but the wait is worth it.

Thanks for the nice review on this product. I live in an apartment and will be setting up my first 2m base soon, and this looks like the best way to get started for the antenna.

I have been using a quarter wave wire vertical and about 15-20 ft of coax (th-78a HT)
When I am on the road in Hotel Rooms..... I usually hang it from the curtain track, etc.

Thanks for your message. Never thought about the suctin cup idea!

Later!
