With feild day over what is your next set of plans? Me and a friend of mine are thinking about entering in the RAC contest,(Radio ameture Canadian Contest) coming up in July, We are talking about operating from a high Mountain in Bellingham, looking into Canada, with a small beam 2/440 beam and Halo's 2/6mt antenna and maybe also doing some HF stuff, with my buddipole antenna.

Also I think is July 21-22 is the CQWWVHF contest, and I plan on being a rover all over the place maybe by then my friend well have his RV up and running, and then t here is a UHF contest in Aug,but that's a maybe

Now that FD is over, I can get a good hot shower, clean clothes, and rest up basking in FRIGID Air Conditioning. There is always time to put the radios away at leisure. PHEW!!!! That is the MOST HARD WORK I have done ALL YEAR!!! I am just not a DITCH DIGGER type of person! In fact, I am almost ready for a WHEEL CHAIR! But I sure overdid it on Field Day! Time to RECOVER!

Hey All,

Still cleaning up from FD (Boy , did I OVERDO it too !). Many projects on the bench, hopefully grabbing a few more 6 M openings before it shuts down for the year, doing the receive contest on the Schmarder Radio Board (might try some of ham contests too), putting shack in order, etc, etc, blah, blah , blah.

130 days and counting! :)

And between now then, I need to install a station ground, hopefully by NAQP CW on the first full August weekend. Then there's the OHQP, the TXQP, CQP, PQP...

In terms of on-air activity, aside from my usual attempts to further my quest for the Quixote award, I have the following items on the to-do list:

RAC, which I'm tentatively planning to use as a chance to dabble with SO2R operating
IARU
NAQP
Figure out how I can get some practice in sending/receiving QTC's before WAE

Also, as a result of Field Day, I'm starting to get an itch (above and beyond the accumulated mosquito bites) to equip myself to play on the satellites a bit more.

For me, it is now summer antenna work mode. I need to fix the vertical that the XYL destroyed with the weed wacker a while ago. Last year, I finally got a horizontal antenna up. Now it's time to get it up correctly, and as far from the noisy house as possible. It would still be good to have something directional for the higher bands before November SS contest gets here, not to mention DX contests.

Finish refurbishing the beam and get it up on the tower. Put up the new and improved 160 antenna. Check the mail every day for my Yemen and Bhutan QSL cards. :p

I'm still working on getting the tower + BIG yagi up. My new target is the IARU contest.
