Hey All,

K1M from Scituate,MA will be up on most bands . QTH is the Fourth Cliff Military Recreation camping area. We operate from a large pavilion/roof built over a former shore artillery gun site ( you can still see the circular rail for the gun to pivot). This pavilion is next to a very large underground command post/bunker.

Hope to work some of you,

Hey All,

This year we had several "issues" re computers, weather ( severe t storms Fri and Sat), propagation (ie 6 M dead save for copy of one"dx" E Long Island sta. from our E MA FN 41 QTH etc. Also lots of T storm QRN).

HF propagation seemed "mediocre" to "good" depending on where and when you operated. The higher frqs toward 10 M usually weren't too good though.

Still a GREAT time was had by all- lots of food (lobsters, steaks, beverages) etc.

I also did some crystal set dxing on HF and B'cast band . I played around w/ some of my VLF gear too. We laid out 250 ft of low wire and a 75 ft bare copper c.poise.It played quite well even down as low at 7 K.C.

A pretty good turn out- 4 operating positions ,5 operators and a number of visitors most of which were hams.

My experimental 6 M copper pipe inverted Vee probably would have worked "OK" on Es( IF we ever had some, Hi !), but for local contacts wasn't really too good ( at 25 watts). Despite a dead band ,I STILL liked working the 6M position and knocking out some locals , in voice - and -also by trying to plug along in CW. I'd still take the 6 M O.P. next year but with a bit more of serious antenna than this year's. LAST year we a had a big 6 M beam up ALONG with fantastic propagation ( to maybe 85% of U.S.). But alas , not this year .Antenna and Radio Gods were both underachievers on 6 this time around.
