The Briarpatch ARC and the Foothills ARC are pleased to announce the Elkin, NC Winter
Hamfest. The hamfest will be held at the National Guard Armory in Elkin, NC. Sunday February
24, 2002. 8:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Admission $5. Elkin is off I-77 at Exit 82. Plenty of inside
tables are still available, as well as limited "tailgate" spaces outside. Pat Hill, AE4HK is handling
table reservations at (276)236-6747. E-mail Table reservation requests or general info to
KG4FLA@HOTMAIL.COM. Admission $5. This is an ARRL sanctioned event, and VE testing
will be available on site. Testing will begin at 9:00 A.M. (Please have two forms of ID, with
photocopy’s as well as any current license or CSCE’s) . Brand New HF rig as first prize, as well
as many smaller prizes to be given away.
At exit 82 go to end of ramp and turn left that will put you on Hwy.67 West, follow Hwy 67
West to Jonesville, go across old bridge, at end of bridge go straight through stoplight, go to end
of road and turn right onto North Bridge Street or also known as Hwy 21, go past K-Mart
shopping center, there is a McDonald's next to the road. The National Guard Armory is about 3rd
or 4th building on left. Talk-in frequency. 145.370 -600
