I would suggest you contact clubs in your area or contact arrl.com for "elmers" to guide you through this. If you only want equipt then you may go to many sources on the net to purchase some.
Not to be harsh but our equipt is very important to us and most of us are very protective and dont just give it out to any body who asks, If the interest is there we may Loan stuff short term but the expeectation is that you buy or build your own , it is part of the experience
