Can anyone give me some choices for a GPS unit to work with the Kenwood D700A? Thanks for any info.

I am using the Garmin Etrex series with my TH-D7(E). It is a Vista but unless you need all the bells and whistles it should be eqaully fine with any of the others.

I have an older GPS-model, Garmin GPS II Plus, in use with my TM-D700. This combination works FB.

I use the Rand McNally gps in my blazer. It is the PERFECT setup and I don't know if I have heard of anyone else using it. You can buy one off ebay for less than 50 bucks. I have the wiring information if you're interested. The gps is always on and self maintains. It does not look like anything valuable on my dashboard so I'm never worried about theft. When I turn on my rig, I have instant NEMA!

I use a Magellan 310 GPS (now discontinued) with my D700. Not too many hams use this particular setup, however. Works very well, but the wiring was a pain to figure out. The suggested way in the manuals did not work, but I figured it out.

I have used the Magellan Meridian with the 700a and the d7a and it works great with both. Easy cabling and set up. They sent a pigtail fr making the cable with the radios and bought the pigtail for the GPS. I also have a older Garmin 3 plus, but like the WAAS capabilities of the Magellan, so I use it instead of the Garmin.
