A PWRgate is a simple backup power system, it will allow your communications equipment to remain operative on battery power during AC power blackouts. Power supplies and batteries can be swapped out while the equipment remains on with no glitches.
Get ready for Field day with the Low Loss PWRgate, it uses MOSFET power transistors to switch the load between power sources with less then a 20 milivolt drop, much smaller then similar systems that use Schottky diodes. This keeps the power losses to a minimum.
The Low Loss PWRgate transfers up to 25 amperes at up to 16 volts dc continuously. It is a safe way to connect both a 12 volt battery and a 13.8 volt power supply to a load, while electrically isolating both from each other. Whenever your power supply is on, the supply feeds the load while also charging the battery, keeping the battery healthy and ready for use when the power supply is off or looses AC power. Switching is instantaneous.
Full money back if not satisfied.

I just installed the PWRgate and a battery fuel gauge took all of 10 min to setup because I had to find some large ring terminals for my 75AH batteries and install a few power poles. This setup is so slick and simple using the equipment you have that it's a no brainer. I had to test mine 5 or 6 times just because it works so well.
Thanks Jim for another fine ham made product and speedy shipping.

Thanks for the review Fred, Our mission is to help hams prepare for whatever life throws at us and keep it simple and safe in the process.
We will be at the Warrensburg MO hamfest this Saturday, the Salina KS hamfest in August, and the Gardner KS hamfest in Sept.,
If you're at any of these events. please stop at our table and say hi! 73 KI0BK

I have an anderson power pole that is rated at 40amp...woudl that be a problem with your device?

I used 45 amp PP with 10 ga wire with mine for most of the runs for the lowest loss factors.

The PP's rated for 15, 30 and 45 amp will all mate with the LLPG. Thanks for asking. 73 Jim KI0BK

Just an update to let others know last week we had a few isolated thunder storns where we lost power for just a secong or so at a time just enough that all my computers, amps, FTDX-5000 all shut down. During these power outages on and off for about 1 1/2 hrs I never knew when it happened on my IC-9100,K3/100,P3,K2/100,KAT100 plus both of the microKEYER II's (into a laptop setup just for that need if and when),never missed a lick.
I do not know Jim other than on this board and have no interest but if anyone needs a cheap way to maintain a backup system this is the way to go and works flawlessly, I can't speak well enough of it for sure. The sweet part we have about everything we need in the shack already except maybe for a battery that was the only items I bought other than some ring terminals. The little battery fuel gauge really does work and just plugs into the PP's that are installed.
Thanks Jim for bringing a fine product to market so small and simple but works so well at a price all can afford.

I have been using a LLPG for several months now and it works great. I have lost power during a Skywarn net mid transmit and the radio never missed a beat. I am planning on a couple of more for the shack for additional radio's. I can buy 2 of these for less than the price of a "Commercial" unit. For anyone that does run battery backups for not much more than a battery tender you can charge your batteries and have an instant switch over.

Do you have an "Finished" Battery Fuel Gauge yet my proto type is hard to keep connected with a small amount of movement and I'm afraid the PP connector could break. Other than that everything is working great battery stays at 100% charge when I have checked it it a few times.
Thx & 73,
