icom cable ptt

Can someone speak about their luck with certain I com cat cables? Like eBay buys and how they work. Will they pass ptt OK? Trying to pick one out.

Are you looking at DE-9 serial connections or the USB connections to your computer for PTT operation?

I just want to be sure the cable I buy will allow me to transmit through HRD or a similar program. I want to try remotely controlling my station via the web.
