Turning 50 and achieving 10 years as radio amateur is a once in a lifetime event!, so iŽm determined to celebrate it all year long with you by sharing several trips and activities in and outside Mexico, and having my pc and HF radio equipment as my fellow travelers.
I'll be using the 40, 20, 10 and 2 meter bands depending on enabling conditions or via echolink 82336 node. IŽll be trying to make interesting contacts via satellite and would greatly like to invite all the ham community to join me in this experience. IŽll be sending a QSL personal card to all those national ham radio stations which contact me in three different times and for the ones abroad, in two different occasions.
All the info about the trips, modes and activities will soon be found in the electronic media but for now you may seek for it in QRZ.com, XE1IMO and on the national radio amateur broadcasts.
My first trip is scheduled from march 17th to march 21st. ItŽll be an 80 kms kayak route departing from Punta Lagarto, north of Bahía de Chetumal Mexico, through the Raudales community, reaching the Bacalar lagoon and finally getting to Buenavista community. Due to the long distance from Chetumal City, iŽll be in contact daiy at night through echolink 82336 node. ItŽs an expedition organized with several friends and weŽll be rowing aproximately a distance of 27 kms. per day. IŽll be looking forward to hearing from you, thus making it an unforgettable experience!
The second trip will be to a camping site in Acatlan Hidalgo Mexico, on holy week, from April 4th to April 7th. IŽll be operating on the 40,20,10 and 2 meter bands and hoping to achieve any further contacts by using the amateur satellites.
You can also reach me by email xe1imo@yahoo.com.mx or in my blog http://xe1imontherun.blogspot.com
Thanks for sharing with me this special and meaningful year in my life!
Best regards,
Guillermo XE1IMO
