David Caruthers (kf7cg@arrl.net) writes "Here is a way to stop restrictive CC&R provisions before they exist. Attend your local land use board (zoning, development, etc) meetings, oppose and request hearings on all planned developments and parcel divisions that include overly restrictive antenna prohibitions in their CC&R declarations. This can delay development until the provisions are removed or are dicussed in public hearings. The more Hams that attend and request this the better.
You may not win too many, but you will make the developers expend time and money defending their restrictions. This is also where PRB-1 can be used to advantage, local government can't be too restrictive; developers can. Another thought, if the restrictions come open for hearings, then anyone in the community can comment on any of them. I feel that this would be a headache for the developers.
Hams unite! Go to the local land use boards and oppose all developments with orverly restrictive antenna restrictions. Done in enough places, this will reverse the CC&R trend. In this forum the voices of those that are not being restricted count also. All Hams can protests new developments and zonings in their communities.
Let us all stop the CC&R before it happens.
