I have an IC-718 with a AH4 auto tuner connected to a 30 Ft. copper pipe on top of my 2nd. story roof. The base of the pipe is at 26 Ft. above ground; a ground wire of approximately 32 Ft. is connected to a 10 Ft. ground rod in the ground, making sort of a vertical off center fed dipole. This system works great, I get out very well on 10 meters through 80 meters. The problem I have is on receive, this system is noisy, as most verticals are of course. I thought of going with a R-75, IC-718 twin setup, with the R-75 connected to a ( balanced L turner, open wire feed line ) horizontal loop going around the parameter of my 2nd. story roof. I have contacted Icom tech line with this idea and they are no help, they have no idea how to accomplish this R-75, IC-718 twin setup, so I give up on the idea, then I saw a review on the R-75 in eHam product reviews. A ham was doing a R-75, IC-718 twin setup station.
So I am wondering if I can get information on exactly how one can accomplished this R-75, IC-718 twin setup?
Thank You,
