"Lighthouse Christmas Lights 2001"
Special Event Sponsored by the ARLHS
Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society.
This is a special event, not a contest,
and you do NOT have to operate from
a lighthouse in order to participate.
Purposes:
To promote public awareness of ham radio and lighthouses;
to contribute to the recognition that lighthouses, lightships,
and their keepers deserve;
to foster camaraderie within the ham fraternity; and
to provide fellowship amongst the members of the
Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society.
Date & Time:
0001 UTC Dec 22, 2001 (7:01 PM EST, Dec 21)
through 2359 UTC Jan 2, 2002
Modes:
Any and all! - SSB, FM, SSB, PSK, SSTV, even light beams and semaphores.
Repeater and satellite operation is also allowed.
Bands:
Suggested calling frequencies (work +/- 20 kc)
SSB: 1.970, 3.970, 7270, 14.270, 21.370, 28.370
CW: 1.870, 3.570, 7.070, 14.070, 21.070, 28.070
Procedure:
Call CQ Lighthouse or CQ/LH
Exchange:
ARLHS members give out call sign, ARLHS membership number
(see ARLHS database at www.quickbase.com if you don't know it),
your name, and state or province.
Non-members give call sign, year first licensed, name, and state/prov.
Lighthouse Stations send call, ARLHS lighthouse number, name, state/prov.
NOTE: A numbered list of ARLHS lighthouses is available from page 10
of the ARLHS web site at http://arlhs.com
Awards: Certificate for working 5 or more lighthouses/ships.
Certificate for working 10 or more member ARLHS stations.
Send log info by Jan 31, 2002, to ARLHS, P.O. Box 2178,
Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. Include SASE (57 cents in USA or
1 IRC for DX) 9x12-inch envelope and enclose $1.00
US currency/check for return of certificate. Questions via
