I see a bunch of iPhone apps on the app store related to HAM, but they are all pay apps and it's hard to get an idea of if they are any good or not, I've bought a few of the $0.99 and $1.99 apps but none of them really do what I want them to do..
Basically I want an easy to use app for looking up and logging contacts, something that has auto-complete for recently used calls, configureable limited keyboard for the first two characters, like if I know the majority of my contacts start with W, K, N then only have those plus numbers, once a number is entered switch to a full keyboard for the remainder of the call, etc.. Automatically log looked up calls and have the ability to 'favorite' a call. Access to a repeater database that points them out on a map relative to my position, and the ability to favorite repeaters too, so that when I make a local contact I can select which of my favorite repeaters I talk to them on, etc.....

I've tried iRover, CallBook, QSL MObile and none of them really do exactly what I want... Does anyone have suggestions for apps that they like? I tried to search a bit but couldn't find a decent list...

Thanks and 73s!

I use QSL Mobile, Ham, Ham-Log, Clinometer, OpenAPRS, EchoLink, Satellite Tracker Plus, Ikpsk and Multimode.

QSL Mobile is good for looking up repeaters, although you can get lost on a long list.

Ham is good for the solar stuff and PSK Reporter.

73 has a mini-log, UTC clock, QRZ and ULS lookups, IARU prefixes, grid squares, band plan, grid calculator and grid-to-map.

The clinometer is good for setting up a satellite antenna, etc...

OpenAPRS uses your phone to report / show your position and other stations nearby.

Echolink -- yeah, just like the PC software.

Satellite Tracker Plus -- you can track various satellites and use it to position antennas.

Ikpsk -- PSK31, but very hard to lock onto a particular signal.

Multimode -- PSK plus a few other modes -- same author as Ikpsk.

I use HamLog and Ham-Tool for my FT-857 which also has a lot of other handy references & call sign look up. I have iSDR, & EchoLink as well.

APRS:
Pocket Packet - built in sound TNC can decode packets and create packets using speaker, also internet using APRS-IS servers
OpenAPRS - nice internet only using openaprs.net

SDR:
iSDR - need to build a "radio" for it

REMOTE CONTROL:
CommCat - I use the free version with HRD and QSXer/myqsx.net

Other:
iLocate - Provides you with your LAT/LON See: Maidenhead
HamiAm - Phonetics, Q signals, Jargon, Morse Code Bunch of good info
Ham - Solar Index, PSKreporter
iHam Locate - Repeater directory with lookup IT WILL TAKE YOUR LOCATION AND GIVE NEARBY REPEATERS
Call Sign - Callsign lookup, nice for VEs since it return the FRN number
IRLP-Me - IRLP stuff haven't used it yet
Echolink - Almost just like the PC version
Satellite Tracker -
MaidenHead - like iLocate but better as it will give you your current gridsquare
RFCalc - General calculations

MORSE CODE:
MorseKey - iambic paddle, sort of
Ham Morse AA9PW - learn morse code, best app for learning Koch Method well worth the money
HotPaw Morse Decoder - Best morse decoder, I used it in the airport to figure out the Motorola radios were saying

MISC:
Phonal Tonal - DTMF tones for repeater/IRLP
DTMF Pad - more DTMF tones
Columbia What Knot - how to tie Palomar knot and Round turn two half hitches and other useful knots for guy lines, etc

That's a few of what I have.
