Just curious. I got the MFJ mic since it was 1/2 the price, and I saw a log of people using them. I'm using it on my Vertex VX-150.

I've noticed though, that the sound really isn't that good and was wondering if any of ya'll have used them in comparison to each other and if the actual Yaesu mic sounds and fits any better?

This mic keep slipping out a little on the HT and keying up the mic when it does and is driving me nuts.

Would you exchange it for the Yaesu or mod the MFJ???

Thanx,

Jonathan

No question - get the Yaesu. You will not be sorry you did.......

Thanx,

I played around with it and the Pryme mic, got the prime because it seemed to feel better in my hand (I'm a big guy). But I agree, that it was much better than the MFJ.

The MFJ kept sliding out a little on me and keying up on it's own. This was frustrating, especially on a net environment. Trust me, I kept coming up with many uses for the acronym MFJ, LOL.

You get what you pay for in this case. The Yaesu mics are $30-50, but they sound like a speaker-mic should. I've used both and if I had it to do over again, I would not have gotten the MFJ mic I have.
