JAMBOREE ON THE AIR...GUAM WILL BE THERE!
This weekend GUAM will be ON THE AIR on 20 meters and other bands HF. We will also be using the new IRLP Node to split up the group. It is primarily Tiger Cubs, Cubs and Webelo's. Due to the time difference we will be on the air starting 1100 Guam Standard time or 0100 zulu. If you here us out there give us a call, and give the kids some exicitement...

Hello, My name is Larry, AA0BY.
I am creating a publication called Hamtastic Kids. This will feature articles written primarily about kids in ham radio in contesting, ragchewing, dxing, packet radio, vhf and so on. We have had some interest in the Boy Scouts in amateur radio, and if you are interested, perhaps you could put in a short blurb about what your club is doing.
JOTA is a lot of fun. Hope you guys enjoy.

Just wanted to say it was a pleasure today to work all of you operators who participated in JOTA today, Very nice meeting yall, and if your gonna be on tommorow, look for K2BSA on 15 meters. We had great contacts during the day on 15 meters, and some good ones on 20 as well, even though the band wasnt in all that great of shape.

I went out to help the kids run their personal camp station today, along with my Father (KI4BOO), Len (KC4GOA), and another Ham named Addison whose call I cant seem to EVER remember.
We were on HF and VHF 2m. We brought the Kenwood 850, but we ended up getting 69 kids on the air today, and just didnt have time to call up a DX station on 20 Meters and let them talk.
So our friend Tom monitored the repeater, and talked to each and every one of the kids... From 9AM until 5PM. A real trooper! I told him that I'd buy him a beer if I was old enough. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Everything went well, no problems or hitches at all. Im looking forward to going back again next year!
(Ill try and get ahold of some of the pictures from the station to show everyone)
I helped out and it was so awsome. I have never seen so many kids smile and jump for joy in my life.

Great thread!!!!
I just secured from our JOTA Site where I was the 2 meter 70 CM IRLP Echolink Control Operator.
We had 40 meters 20 meters set up as well.
`
The kids had a blast talking to other scouts in Australia Europe and the Caribbean. The best 20 meter contact was Angola and of course IRLP and Echolink made Europe and Australia sound like they were right next door.
It was a great weekend and I am already looking forward and planing next years JOTA. Thanks to all who praticipated!!
