I have an Icom IC756ProII and not much space to hang an antenna , but \have looked at the specs for the AH-4 ATU and decided to use this device and now have one on order.
Does anyone have any experience of using the IC756ProII with the AH-4 ATU ?
I would be pleased to hear of what performance this gives

Well I used one on an IC-706 MKIIG in a car with an 8-foot whip. It worked great except 40 meters was not so hot. When I went camping, I would hang a 40 foot wire to the bottom of the whip and I would be able to work all over the world and 40 and 80 worked great.
The thing would tune in under 2 seconds. It worked great and held up great. It was mounted under my car and never died in 3 years of daily operation.
The thing is built like a tank and the integration with the "tune" button is nice.

I have an IC-718 with a AH4 auto tuner connected to a 30 Ft. copper pipe on top of my 2nd. story roof. The base of the pipe is at 26 Ft. above ground; a ground wire of approximately 32 Ft. is connected to a 10 Ft. ground rod in the ground, making sort of a vertical off center fed dipole. This system works great, I get out very well on 10 meters through 80 meters.

OK well I got the AH-4 and installed it as per the instructions and attached about 20m of wire . I have tried to comapre it to my existing offset wire antenna and so far can not detect any difference on RX or TX.
So my conclusion is that this is a excellent way to get on air if the location is not suitable for a 'normal' antenna as any length of wire over 7 m will cover 80m to 10m

i used a 102" cb whip on the top ladder rack of my rv..put the tuner right below it...it would load 160-6.worked a ton of stations.
