View Full Version : Hail to Der Governator!

Ja, Ahnold is now der Governator of Kaleefornia.

And I love it.

Not that I, a resident of the People's Republik of Maryland, really care WHO is Governor of W6 land. It's just fun to tweak aging hippies like Garry Trudeau of Doonesbury fame, who try SO HARD to smear anyone to the "right" of Teddy Kennedy.

Supposedly, the CLINTONS were also trying to throw support to Gay Davis. Didn't work, did it?

I just hope this means the party is OVER for illegal aliens in California -- and in other states as well. No more free drivers licenses... free college education... total free ride everywhere.

Just a side note -- Here in Baltimore, back in March, a young girl pedestrian was killed by a drunk driver who TRIED to get away. (He was forcibly stopped by many onlookers.) Guess what? Illegal alien from Mexico. Makes you sick, huh? Me too.

And Davis wanted to give (among many other nice trinkets) DRIVERS LICENSES to ILLEGAL aliens! He deserved the humiliation he got -- Defeated by Ahnold.

I love it. Garry Trudeau: Eat it!

Out.

I voted for him. But he can't immediately do what he wants (and promised) to do, simply because the Governor doesn't have the power to make many changes. In some cases, it's the state legislature; in others, it's a public referendum; etc. So, I took the campaign promises very lightly.

I'm just hoping Ahhhnold has enough "bully" in him to shake up the troops and put a scare into them. I don't think anybody in our legislature could beat him in an arm wrestle, or any sort of hand-to-hand combat. So, I truly hope to see some blood flowing in Sacratomato before too long....

Even the last-minute Gropinator accusations weren't enough to derail that juggernaut. In fact, it might have even won him a significant number of sympathy votes. The LA Times was just a bit too obvious in their attempt to spike Ahhnold without giving him any time to put up much of a rebuttal.

I just love when bad behavior backfires. Smoke that in your pipe and stick it, LA Times! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It will be up hill for ARNOLD, he has a democrat Lt. I listened to his first news conference. #He sounds good. #However, #talk is cheap. #

As was pointed out, #many things need support and approvial of the rest of the representitives. #If they respond like he thinks they will, #and I hope they do, #then maybe this can be the Golden State once again.

Afterall, #they may have to think twice about thier position in uncoming elections, or recalls.

Not without an amendment to the Constitution. #

Article II, Section 1 states:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

It was on this evening's news (which I was barely paying attention to until midstatement) that I belive it was Orrin Hatch and some other person were working on drafting an amendmant to the Costitution that would allow Ahnold and others to hold office as the President. Didn't take them long did it?

I was all for anyone but Davis, for two reasons. The first is he made a mess of California. The second is our governor, Bill Richardson (and I am gleeful about this!) tried to ride his coattails, as Bill runs for President in 2008. I hope Bill continues to ride Davis' coattails, in fact, right out of sight. I am totally thrilled that Governor Bill backed a loser and got his face in the national media (as he tries to do every day) coupled with a loser. In fact, I'd love to see an instant replay.

But it scares the holy hell out of me to think a non-native could become President of the USA. If that happened, it would not be Mr. Arnold. It would be Senor Gonzales de Romero de Lopez de Anaya who would become El Presidente de Los Estados De Unidos de Mexico del Norte. And no gringo would ever get into elected office again.

And of course, Arnold has not proved he can run Kalifornico either. Let's see if Hatch still wants him for President a year from now. I think that is just a publicity stunt for Hatch and others, as they know this is a "el stupido' idea. It opens the gates wide to anyone south of the border to move the border north to Toronto.

(Which is already happening but at least on a slightly slower scale.)

It was truly exciting to hear Cruz Bustamente twist a collosal loss into "a grand victory" over proposition 54. I bet his teeth were grinding to the bone. I'd like to see a replay of that, too! Even the spin doctors fell off that merry-go-round.

Had I been in Mexifornia, I would have voted for Arnold, and would have voted twice once I saw Governor Richardson standing next to him. But I can only hope Bill finds a new home in Sacramento and on any one of his dozens of trips out of New Mexico, can't find his way back.

We are one of the states that does not allow a recall.

Anyway, more power to Arnold. But for president? I don't think so, Tim. Let's let him stay in California.

It amazes me that people would so readily vote for an unknown quantity to preside over the 10th largest economy in the world.

It amazes me even more that people continue to make it sound as if the govenor's office was a big deal in California.

I did get a kick, though, out of the fact that the conservative republicans who spent their own money to back the recall ended up with arnuld rather than one of their own. To me the high point of the election was Issa saying republicans should vote 'no' on the recall if there were still two republicans in the race.

Never a dull moment here on the left coast.

HAH...Gay Davis....who cares about California? That state went to the dogs a long time ago....People are so brainwashed by popular film and media that it's no surprise that Arnold made it. The average person knows nothing of politics and cares less. What he/she does care about are the big blockbuster hits and terrible reality TV spoofs that keep mindless viewers on the edge of their IKEA chairs. Lame.

Try reading. Your local public library will immerse you in a world of knowledge beyond B-movies and double-digit IQ inspired offal which is Hollywood and TV.

If this was Cambodia in the 1970's, the Khmer Rouge would have killed Arnold and Arianna Huffington, or at least made them work to death in a Phnom Pehn rice paddy in black pajamas until they died. Then again, a lot of people would be gone. A morbid sub-concept, but valid nonetheless. As KMFDM says, "I wage war on Mcdonalds, Walt Disney and Bethlehem, Christina, Britney and Eminem".

I am not absolutely certain about California, but, in Texas, the Lieutenant Governor actually has considerably more power than the Governor. This is due to the fact that the Lieutenant Governor "runs" the state legislature whereas the Governor's position is more ceremonial than not. This is not to say that the Governor doesn't have certain powers (like appointments, etc.). However, in terms of "day to day" power the Lieutenant Governor has more.

Haw! Green Acres -- It was ahead of its time.

As for the Lite-tenant Governor, here in the People's Republic of Maryland, we used to have the bubble-headed Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. She's the daughter of Bobby Kennedy, but now more resembles a SOCCER MOM, in terms of appearance and intellect. She was SOUNDLY trounced in the election last November by Republican Bob Ehrlich -- Quite a feat for Bob in a state that's like 90% Dummycratic. Townsend did not really do much, except screw up the juvenile justice system.

It's a NON-position in this state.

OM N8CPA -- Oh, I'm sure a LOT of the "Fruits & Nuts" of Kaleefornia are taking gas over this, and I love it! I just hope he walks into the office and says, "Hasta la vista, Davis"

I remember that maryland race. #And I remember how Townsend, with Hillary's impetus, tried to blow the "unbecoming" comment into sexism. #I saw the video of the debate. #Her opponent's comment (whose name I can't remember, now) was directed squarely at her debating style, not her appearance or beauty. #I'm sure that every air-breathing honest person saw it as that. #That's why I don't take anything Hillary says seriously, because it always involves some kind of lie that counts on someone else's stupidity or naivete. #And that political style seems to dominate their faction. #It's insulting to the intelligence of voters. #

The #outcome of the Maryland race and California recall indicates that voters are sick of being insulted! #Can you say, "backlash?" #Arnold can. But he calls it "bachlash." #Backlash or bachlash, it means the same thing. #The Democrats need to regroup and redefine their national image. #The current one is far too transparent. #They are the same party that the Republicans were 30 years ago.

Townsend and her campaign tried every slimy trick in the book to smear Ehrlich, paint him as a racist (even though his Lt Gov is Black), etc. Didn't work. Hey, Maryland is a VERY VERY Dummycratic state. We have not had a Republican Governor for 30 years. (Spiro Agnew, as a matter of fact.)

Consider that Bob Ehrlich beat a DEMOCRAT, and a KENNEDY to boot, and an *INCUMBENT* !! That says a lot. It says that Bob is a good man, and it says that Townsend is a galactic-level loser. Clearly, the same old Yadda Yadda out of the Dummycraps is wearing thin.

OM KI4BGO,

Don't worry. Hillary has a solution to the deficit. She'll start with an 80% income tax rate, and go from there. Then she'll find she can actually INCREASE spending once she gets all that dough in the piggy bank. Then she'll set up a new Gubbermint Service called "Direct Deposit," where you can just directly deposit your entire paycheck in the IRS's account. Don't worry, Hill will spend it for you, and probably on better stuff than YOU would spend it on.

It takes a village!

To anyone else STILL bellyaching about the 2000 election: Build a bridge and get OVER it.

Haw!

Out.

Hillary this, Hillary that.... http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif not sure WHERE you keep going with THAT one, but if anyone needs help from this "administration" they'd better move to Iraq, 'cause that's where the piece of trash in the white house is sending EVERYONES money....yours, mine and 87 billion more that could really help OUR country! Poor misguided fools who think all this is OK...maybe in 2004 it WILL be! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I listened to Hannity's interview with Arnold and I think he is a LIBERAL. Were I to live in California (NO THANKS BEEN THERE AND DON'T LIKE IT) I would never have voted for him.

SHHH!!! that's suposed to be a secret.

As far as one can tell, he's a middle-roader. No one who keeps a bust of R. R. in his office can be considered a liberal for heaven's sake. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I heard a rumor that Bill Clinton is being considered for the next Sect. Gen. of the U.N.

Now wouldn't that be a stink?

OM KI4BGO,

(By the way, can I call you Bingo? That would be a cool nickname for you.)

Well, I just use "Hillary" to represent ANY far-left, Welfare State, PLO and illegal immigrant sympathizer, tax-money-grabber politician. Does not have to be THE shrill, nasal voiced, tree-trunk-legged, beat-with-an-ugly-stick, Marxist "Hillary" that we know and love. She's just a prime example of the type. You could even substitute "Howard Dean," or "Teddy Kennedy," or even "Gay Davis" if you want.

But if the size 14-1/2 EEE red pump FITS.... well....

Dood, rag on GW Bush all you want. It's your right as a God Fearing American to speak your mind about about our leaders -- good or bad. I just get SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of hearing people whine about the 2000 election. ("Selected President?") Last time I checked, that was almost THREE years ago. And he DID win fair and square and by the book. Every recount, even. Unhappy? Change the Constitution.

Just thank sweet Lord Jesus that Al Bore didn't win.

Lemme have an AMEN from da CHOIR!!!!

Hotchaaaaaaa!!

STEVE W3SY,
Tnx Steve you just saved me from getting kicked off QRZ, the way you phrased it had the same connotation but not the same adjectives that came to mind as I considered a reply to the progressive gentleman.
I owe you one ...... # #73, # ORV

"Progressive," uh, ok http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

If nothing else, and mind I am bringing this back up early, as it never is discussed until the 6 months following a Presidential election:
The electoral college needs to be shafted. Gone, done with, the people have the say.
That fiasco only existed because of the "electoral" system.

Majority rules, and every vote counts..

Sorry to jump in, but I just wanted to point out this is why we have an Electoral College. "Majority rules" totally ignores individual liberties. While the benefits of the electoral college are debatable, it is certainly no worse than a pure democracy (majority rules), which is nothing more than mob rule. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled thread.
