got one here that the top row of buttons don't work, should be just a pin. think is, cable is actually the film stuff and kaypad is a block of epoxy

I have three Regency XL2000's that have keypad problems as well. After doing some investigation it seems that the keypads are standard 4X4 keypads. You might be able to find some keypads that work at surplus houses. YMMV of course.
