I've decided to buckle down and get my code speed back up to useable . . . and I'm looking for some Windows s/w that would do more than just generate random characters . . .

On my Amiga (long gone now), I had a program from an Italian ham which simulated a receiver and noise, right down to bandwidth control. It would generate a fictitious QSO much in the format of the old CW tests. I wonder if anyone ever did something like that for WIndows?

Any ideas out there? Recommendations?

Sounds like "Doctor DX". That was a neat program back around the mid-80s if I recall. I played with it at one of the Ham Radio stores (remember them?) in Seattle on a (gasp!) Commodore 64!

Haven't seen anything quite like it since.

Try this: http://www.g4fon.net/

The Koch trainer simulates QSOs, and can include special effects, such as noise, interferrence, and fading.

You have internet. Why do you need software?

There's Learn CW Online (http://lcwo.net/).

Hope that helps.
