For those of you that happen to own nice transceivers that are capable of operating ALSO on 50 mHz...
This is the time of the year to GO TO SIX !!!
A very simple antenna will put your 9 band HF +6 meters transceiver on the air ON THE MAGIC BAND !!! Monitor 6 meters from as early as 7 am your local time to as late as midnight for SPORADIC E SKIP SIGNALS.
The easy to build antennas ( which you can homebrew ) are
a half wave dipole made using wire and nylon fishing line end insulators ( the fishing like is a LOOOONG insulator )
A single element LOOP, fed via a 1/4 wave coaxial matching section
OR TRY MY OWN DESIGN...

Which is easy to homebrew, needs only one mast and HAS GAIN over the dipole... IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MY ASD ANTENNA, just send me an

to make your own ASD for the 6 meter band.
NOW that 6 is open almost every day, try monitoring the band, even with your 40 meter band dipole... listen on 50.125 kHz calling frequency...
