Subject: F1ULT- International Hell Contest and Hell Activity Day

The International Hell Contest 2003 will take place the 4 and 5 OCTOBER 2003 for 40 an 80m and the 9 OCTOBER 2003 for 2 an 0.70m.

The rules of the international Hell Contest can be found :

- in English on http://www.darc.de/distrikte/g/T_ATV/DARC-Hell.txt or

- in French on http://f1ult.free.fr/FUZZY/DARC-Hell.txt

- in German on http://www.darc.de/referate/hf/contest/hell.html

Can you make advertising for this contest in giving information to the ham news papers of your country (translation in your language will be a best thing) or in writing on web sites which announce contest?

Be careful! There is delay for publishing in the press.

Same idea for next activity days in Hell (25 October for 2003).

Well, unless you can decode HELL by ear, I don't think it's going to bother you too much.

What is HELL? Other than a place for sinners and a small town in Michigan.

btw I like contesting, it makes for great practice in caase of an emergency. And in Ohio with the power outage and i guess there are more to come

A very nice idea for a contest, but unfortunately, both periods on HF are during the daytime here in Europe, when 80 meters is dead, and 40m is not open to DX. I think I got maybe 6 QSOs during last year's contest, which is less than the number of ordinary rag chew-style QSOs I can usually get in the same amount of time on 14074 KHz.

Furthermore, it's a drag that there's no multi-operator class in the contest. Hell, Norway (http://www.hell.no/) is only about an hour's journey away from here, and it would be fun to take a trip with my club to operate /P there.

Well, well. I'll stop whining now, and start working some Hellschreiber.
