E. Hoover (esh@beer.com) writes "I came across some information today about some new long range cordless phones which are being sold to the general public right here in the USA. These phones are not FCC type accepted, but are being sold under the label of "export" just as the selection of 10/11 meter "export" amplifiers are.
Some of these phones are using frequencies in our 2 meter band, and some also in the 222 Mhz band. Some are capable of over 35 watts! These have the potential to create a multitude of illegal interference problems on amateur frequencies. I will list some web sites of businesses which are selling these phones in the U.S. Please do have a look at these web sites and spread the word about this potential problem for amateur radio.
