TLD(Predator) is a PhD thesis of Zdenek Kalal.http://info.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Personal/Z.Kalal/tld.html
I downloaded the program and it's related programs and got it up and running in a very basic mode. But it worked well.
Video of what you can do from the demo program.

Aim your Webcam at your face and press 0 to use the webcam. Use your mouse to draw a box around part or all of you face. Then double click inside the box.

As we learn what can be done to enable a computer to track images and eventually recognize faces we can begin to appreciate what every normal human brain is capable of. After all, visual and aural communication is part of what makes man function better than most other animals.

Most people can recognize the faces of more than 100 other people. Most however are not capable of drawing pictures or remembering exactly all of the different facial features that permit them to identify their friends and relatives. A teacher may remember most of his students faces on sight even when he has forgotten their names. When we go to a reunion of our classmates after 50 years, we recognize most of them even when their faces have aged. It is difficult to understand how our brain processes the information that is received from the retinas of out eyes and how we see and recognize images of all kinds. Does our brain use the same sort of processing techniques that we may have to program into computers? I dunno. I don't think that we scan images the way a computer must.

w2ilp (Image Likeness Processing)...Start by tracking by a nose in the stretch?

Computer Tracking capability is nothing new. Many RADAR systems use tracking techniques to track targets. In many cases antennas are directed to follow targets. Ground map coordinates of any features and relative positions can be determined by the use of tracking techniques. A RADAR target is said tio be "locked-on" when it is identified and being tracked.

w2ilp (Identified Locked-On Positions) are what RADAR is all about.
