Hello to all. With all the talk about eliminating the Morse Code requirements for amateur radio license examinations, if it does go thru and Morse Code is finally eliminated, what will happen to all the applicants who took and passed a higher class license exam (theory portion) will they be granted the upgraded license? For example, if an applicant who presently has a Technician Class No Code license and has taken and passed the General Class theory and a month later taken and passed the Extra Class theory and has both CSCE's from an accrediated VE test session, will they be granted an Extra Class license and exercise their new operating priviledges? Does anyone have any information on this? Granted, Morse Code is the best way to get the message thru when voice is impossible, but it should be up to the operator how he/she wants to get the message thru. I myself had to take Morse Code to obtain an Extra Class license, but with all the talk today, I guess what will be will be. In a positive sense to the hobby, like Novice Enhancement back in 1987, maybe this will spark more interest for ham radio to the population of people wanting to make ham radio better and enhance the hobby for future operators alike. Thanks for reading and be well. #Dave #[B] http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
