How do I get HRD log to report distance as it appears in QRZ?

You must update your HRD station profile to contain your geographical coordinates and grid square. HRD uses this to calculate from your location to the location of the other station.
Two caveats:
If the other station does not have their coordinates listed in QRZ, then HRD will calculate to the center of the grid square for the other station.
If the other station does not have either the grid square or the coordinates in QRZ, it's a best guess, and likely wrong.
So, the closest means to getting your mileage to match QRZ is to put in the same coordinates and grid square as listed in QRZ. Personally, I used Google Earth to find the exact coordinates of my QTH and that is what I put into HRD.

I have my station profile up to date except for IOTA. The test station has all the correct location list in QRZ. By the way, I am using HRD 4.1 build 2321 and still no distance or state. Thanks for your help.

Consider upgrading to 5.X as this may be an issue with 4.X. 4.X support is going (if not gone) away. You'll only have IOTA number info if you were on an Island (Islands On The Air).
