I was just wondering if any plans were in the works for an iPad app for Echolink, CQ100 or any other? I think it would be the perfect platform. It's portable, has Wifi and G3 internet, bluetooth connection for a headset. It seems like we just need someone who can write the program. Or am i wrong?

Nevermind, just search the Apple Store and they have it for free.

You seem to be equating CQ100 with EchoLink.

Both use the Internet, but the similarity stops there. EchoLink was intended for linking repeaters and simplex gateways via the Internet. The ability to use a computer on the user end is a 'plus'. K1RFD - the author of EchoLink, has stated previously that he did not intend it to be used for direct computer to computer connections, rather, it was intended to increase the amount of activity on VHF/UHF. When two hams communicate with it directly, that takes two hams off the air, reducing the level of activity, and defeating the whole idea of EchoLink.

CQ100, however, is a total simulation. There is also a fee involved. I thought CQ100 went out of business but their website is still up.
