ok I just bought I yaesu 7800R, Sold my beloved Icom 2200H to afford it, and now I am trying to setup to work the amateur satellites....but can't find out how to do so. Both of my Ht's do it, the vx-150 and the vx-170 have VFO-A and VFO-B...both are mono band 2 meter only. Why Doesn't this radio have dual VFO modes to work the birds?

You dont necessarily need dual vfo to work the birds so long as your radio can crossband repeat, i have just read the manual to your rig online and unfortunately there was no mention of crossband capabilities.

Just program the uplink and downlink freqs as odd splits. On my HT's I usually name them with A-E for the doppler adjustment.

AO-51A RX at 435.310 TX 145.92
AO-51B RX 435.305 TX 145.92
AO-51C RX 435.300 TX 145.92
AO-51D rx 435.295 TX 145.92
AO-51E RX 435.290 TX 145.92

Ok I will have to try that. its kinda silly that both of my mono band 2 meter radios have a group a and b. plus both have the split vfo function just like the 857d I had. but I will have to learn how to do that and give it a shot. glad I have lots of memories. lol. thanks.

I have an ft-7800 and just emailed you my TAB file for all the sats and the ISS. I use http://www.g4hfq.co.uk/ software for programming. Might make things a bit easier for you.
