Before i go on yes ive looked. Currently i am using NOVA for windows and HRD for satellite tracking. Both of these work very well but i am limited in my satellite selections. My question is, what software outthere - if it exists - covers all of the amateur satellites available and the ISS?

Thanks

These are the two I use.

SatPC32 at http://www.amsat-na.com/store/item.php?id=100020
Orbitron at http://www.stoff.pl/.

Well i downloaded the Orbitron and did not like its user interface as for the otherl the program wont allow me to install it; it says i am not the admin. Hello, i am the owner and have full rights on this PC, no one else.

Needless to say i am still looking.

How about Satscape?

There used to be a DOS based program called STSPlus, however it has fallen by the wayside after it's creator died. IMHO, it was the best of all the freebies.

If you are refering to SatPC32, you do have to run it as admin. Go into the program files and rightclick on setup and select "run as admin".

Nope still no luck. I am always logged in as admin as there is no other user account on this laptop and still no luck with SATPC32.

Oh well. Ive also noticed that NOVA and HRD are sometimes off by a few minutes and we all know a minute or two off means possible lost contacts.

Nova painlessly imports AMSAT's Keplerian data - currently offering status of 59 amateur satellites.

How are you "limited" with using Nova?

It's what I use, to me this is the easiest to use. And it talks!

Sounds like you just need to spend a little more time learning the software you already have. I don’t use Nova but I’m pretty sure it supports all the current amateur satellites or they can be added and I know HRD does. Did you enable all the satellites in the amateur group on the Satellite Definitions page?

Obviously if a satellite was launched since the release of the software you will have to add it and setup how update the Kepler data. In HRD you can add Kepler data files by going to Satellite menu item and selecting Kepler Data.

You can also manage lists of satellites to use with any software at space-track.org as described in the thread at http://forums.ham-radio.ch/showthread.php?t=20690 (http://forums.ham-radio.ch/showthread.php?t=20690).
