Yesterday prior to the start of the Chile Mine Rescue, I fired up my C Band Satellite system to look for video feeds.

I have had my C Band System in service since the 1980's changing equipment a few times. In the past two years, the importance of TV in my life has become near Zero. So I started to scan for live feeds and found none. My system is working as I do get a few transponders on a few birds. I know my tracking is good since I can get perfect pictures on different birds. I found no live news feeds, nor did I find any Fox, CNN etc.

My question, in the past two years of my inactivity with C Band TV, have all the major news feeds etc gone to KU Band or where did they go. I also wondering if the majority of C Band Transponders are now digital and my old analog equipment cant receive them.

I live very remote in the Mts, my internet connection is dial up at 24.4K, useless for news video. I would like to get the C Band system working, if its still used, for
times when history breaking news is happening. Thoughts and suggestions most welcome.

Yes, it's purt-near-all digital now, but there's a lot of stuff out there. The sat-guys site the other fellow mentioned is a great place for info.
