AMSAT area coordinator Clint Bradford, K6LCS, will be demo'ing working a ham satellite with a handheld radio at the upcoming Southern California Fair in Perris, CA. And later in the month, giving his satellite presentation at PACIFICON - the ARRL Pacific Division convention in San Ramon, CA.

"We have a great pass of AO-51 at 4:54PM PDT on Sunday, October 10 - the opening weekend of the Fair," Clint reports. "You can't miss the Ham Radio Booth - it's right inside the Main Gate on your left."

PACIFICON is back after a year's hiatus. Again sponsored by the Mount Diablo Amateur Radio Club. Clint's presentation is at 10AM Saturday, October 16.

Hi Cliff,

We were out in Nevada DM18 and could hear you pretty well chatting with Kerry in MT; and Christy in Victorville, CA. I was calling and apparantly you could not hear me? I had one contact from SE MT on that 4 PM AO-51 Pass-only and he said I was full quieting. Hmmm..

How come I can hear the stations very well, but can't seemingly get through on transmitting? Could the Arrow II need adjusting? Is cloud cover a factor? Grasping at straws here..

Did you hear us in DM 18? I'm guessing that you could not.

Anyways, good to hear my mentor on the air!
