Please tell me if I should disable this item that is listed in my internet explorer browser "Tools" and then "Manage add on" only as follows:

CD67F990-D8E9-11D2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE

It is presently enabled.

A google search has some information that is not clear to me. It says something about real.com

I believe that is RealPlayer.

Yes, it is Real Player.

Disable it, if you like. Then go to all the websites you normally do. If everything still works fine, no problem.

If someone's video won't play, and asks you to download Real Player, then re-enable this, and then refresh the webpage.

You should really use, Firefox or Chrome, Those two search providers are the best for use, They are faster and more secure. As far as your error it is Realplayer, But Firefox/Chrome has that built in and you can manage your own add ons easier than IE

Why do you want to disable it?
There is not greater risk with or without it.

As long as you update all applications and the OS on your system and use a firewall and a virus/malware scanner you should be fine.
