Has anyone else had problems with AES when they place an online order? I've done it 3 times now and every time I don't get a response as to the status of the order or notification that the item is on back order, which was the case each time. It doesn't seem like very good customer service to me.

Hope you don't order the newest ICOM rig!! Wouldn't want to have the bill for three of them! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Never had a problem with AES. I pick up the phone, dial the toll-free number, and speak with a sales rep. I know right then if it is in stock, at that store, or if it will ship from another store. My personal favorite to deal with, is the guys at the Las Vegas AES, never any problems.

Yes, I don't use the online either. I found it's much better to call your "local" store, find out if it's in stock there, and you know it's shipped.
Besides that, I found that ordering online it takes my merchandise about a weekto reach me, ordering out of Las Vegas, I get the item in two days, if it is in stock.
Hey, once I make my mind up and spend the money, I want the product.

I placed one on-line order with AES about a year ago. No problems with getting the item ( an ICOM IC-2100H ) shipped right out.

The problem that I did have is that I got on their junk e-mail list and don't seem to be able to get off of it. If you don't want to get junk e-mail from AES, don't use on-line ordering.

I don't plan on placing any more on-line orders with them.

I order through AES twice, once by phone and once by the web. Both times the order was shipped in a very timely fashion. No problems. I admit the online ordering was a bit buggy, but the AES salesman left a message on my answering machine telling me my order was corrected and processed. Very professional. I love those guys!

I have ordered from AES - radios, accessories, etc via their ONLINE site since 2000 and have never had problems with it.

Not true. Now I know some places are bad but to paint them all with one brush is no cool at all.

Texas Towers (http://www.texastowers.com)
Texas Towers is run by Gerald. He will get you what you want when you want it. They ship US only. They have a lot of stuff.
Try them and then tell me what you think.

They have always been there and ready to take my order but, You better not leave any room for them to screw it up or they will. If there is more than one style or model of what you ordering, you will get the one that they sell the less, because it is not what you or any body else wants.

My first order with AES is in transit. Ordered an antenna from their website late, I mean REALLY LATE to the tune of 2am PDT, Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Here it is Friday and the package has already arrived at the UPS local distribution center here in Bakersfield according to UPS online tracking. If when it arrives it's the right thing (as I'm sure it will be) then I will be a happy camper with AES.

I guess maybe I just have bad luck with AES. I've ordered A LOT of stuff online and have had excellent service from other venders. All three of the orders I've placed over the last 6 months with AES have been out of stock. They didn't even bother to email me back to let me know. After a week of waiting to hear something back, I emailed them to inquire. They responded 3 days later. This last order, I finally called and inquired. Again, it was out of stock and the guy I talked to said "Oh, yeah! You emailed us about that order didn't you. Why can't they respond to emails the way they do phone calls? They had obviously read my email, but didn't bother to reply. I feel they should treat their online orders the same way the treat phone orders.

All I can say is "Three Strikes and you're out!"

I guess maybe I just have bad luck with AES....

I've ordered a few times from them, all on the web. A couple of those times, something was out of stock and I didn't get any notification except for a postcard a week later. Overall, I would rate them okay if you stay with phone-in orders. Just another example of a company that hasn't quite figured out how important their online presence is to customers that prefer to use it. You should get an instant order verification that includes exactly what you ordered, with exact pricing, shipping charges and total cost, not a simple e-mail that says hey thanks, we received your order. Out of stock items should not even be available to order! It all depends on the shopping cart application you choose to use. Some want to pay for a decent one, some don't. # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

For me, I just drive to Cleveland (about an hour or so depending on traffic) and pick it up http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Also gives me a chance to check out the used shelf.

I am most certainly happy to report that as of yesterday at 12:30 pm local time the guy in the funny brown shorts came to my house with my new mag-mount antenna from AES. A little over 4 days (counting Sat. & Sun) from the time I ordered to the time it got to my front door. And this was a C.O.D. order to boot. I'm very happy with my AES experience. All my business is going to them from here on.

Sidenote... KG6OPR will be happy with AES too because I can finally give back the mag-mount I borrowed from him about 3 months ago.

I MAY APPEAR TO HAVE OTHER MOTIVES DUE TO WHERE I WORK BUT IT HAS NO DOING WITH THIS. I ALWAYS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL ORDER FROM A PERSON THIER IS SOME TYPE OF SATISFACTION OF KNOWING MY ORDER IS DONE AND READY. WHEN I ORDER ON LINE I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE GETTIN A DISCOUNT AS I AM DOING THE JOB OF A SALESMAN SO I WILL ALWAYS CALL AND TALK TO SOMEONE ITS MORE PERSONAL AND GRATIFYING AND YES I DO BUY FROM OTHER STORES THAN MY OWN

I purchased 2 new rigs from them at Dayton this year. They were by far the cheapest on the rigs i wanted, and the staff answered all of my questions in a very professional manner. My hat is off to them !!! I will definitely use them again.
