Hi there!!
I'm fairly new to ham radio, and quite new to QRZ, so please excuse myself if I make a mistake when posting this question.
I'm based in Argentina, and I (as others around) use VHF when traveling offroad, to keep contact with the rest of the group for coordination, assistance, emergency, etc. Also while traveling in roads, we usually drive several jeeps together and use it to talk while traveling. This is what lead me to learn more and thus I'm starting with ham radio.
My gear is a Yaesu 1802 installed on my truck, and a Feixadin 160A when I step down or as a backup. I'm only active on VHF for the time being, but I plan to start with HF as soon as I move to a new house and can setup the antenna, station, etc, and also afford the equipment :).
So after this short introduction, I do have a question were you may be able to help a bit. Given the way I use the yaesu 1802 (talk while driving), I was thinking in getting a headset instead of using the std mic (MH-48A6J). It would be great if it could support VOX, but I think the 1802 doesn't, so it would be PTT.
The one I was looking at is this (USD 40 shipped to Argentina)

Specs available in

This headset comes with the connector for my Feixadin, and I was planning to create the interface to the 1802 by leveraging the minidin plug the headset has.
Wiring for the mic and audio is clear, but I'm worried about the ppt. Am I right if I say that the ptt switch for the MH-48A6J has a 15K resistor in line? If so, then all I need to do with the headset is to put such resistor in line with the ptt button, right?
Any advice in this matter will be more than welcome; thx in advance!
