Have had my titan III amplifier on the air for about ten hours now. #Since rf amps are primarily #mechanical in construction along with some wiring, filtering, and control circuitry, Ten-Tec deserves a 10 on the metal fabrication of the rf deck and close tolerance fit of this amplifier. #Since I used to be in the aerospace biz the quality of the metal fab stands out. #The screws are flush with the sheet metal and have ,I believe pem nut backup for all thread holes. This is one brute of an amplifier (nearly a 100 lbs). #With my al811 the mfj differential tuner could handle mismatches on my wire loop. #Not so with this legal limit amp. The Mfj tuner snaps, crackles and pops at about 900 watts. So much for the differential T, I am going to order a 238 from Ten-Tec on Monday. #Now stations receiving me give me signal reports of 30 and 40 over from the east coast (note: I am in California) #NO !!!!! I don't plan to run legal limit for ragchews. This is the first amplifier I have had that gives me a flat match between the amp and the transceiver on all bands including the warc bands. The tune and load ( plate and load...) has #exceptional repeatability. The tuning is really smooth.... sort of like 20 year old whiskey (and by the way I don't drink). The one thing that is amazing is that the rfi into the tv in the house is noticeably less with the Titan III running 1000 watts then the al811 at 400 watts. #Finally, the relays are very very quiet. #The qsk is fantastic. #Yes it was a bit pricey, but I believe hardware this good is well worth the price. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
