Section 2.1 of th TS-130 user manual (easily downloadable from several sources, and worth a full read) has a clear mike pinout diagram.

For best results, I'd recommend finding a "plain" microphone for those rigs. Astatic sells several inexpensive models that will work quite well.

Kenwood was been consistent in its microphone wiring with the 4-pin and 8-pin Foster circular connector.
Kenwood has made available (download from their web site) a file Connections since 1980s, that has all of these connector pin assignments on a couple of pages.

Owner's Manuals answer over 75% of the radio questions posted here on Q&A.
READING the supplied manufacuturer's manuals and support materials (readily available on their web page or via Internet repositories of manuals) is a FIRST STEP.

Any quality dynamic microphone with an impedance of 500 to 600 ohms should work satisfactory. Used Kenwood microphones are routinely sold on eBay, QTH and QRZ.

The 4 pin Kenwoods are easy to wire to, you will only use three connections TX,Ground,Audio. If you use a vom on the mic you can pinpoint what wires you will need to key the rig and audio is standard white lead, Im not sure how that echo mic will work with the rig but anything is worth a try. Good Luck !!

Let me get this straight, You want to hook up a Echomax 2000 amplified (CB Noise toy complete with Echo and selectable Rodger Beeps) to a TS 130s.......

Personally I would sell it to a CB'er since you could get a premium price for it +/- $100.00) then grab a NICE turner Super Sidekick (around $40.00) and pocket the profit. or an actual Kenwood mic.

on the other hand if you keep the noise toys off (echo/beep) I have heard people say that they Do produce good audio.

Of course in this economy we need to make do so..........

Pin 1 Audio Hot (White)
Pin 2 PTT (RED)
Pin 3 PTT/Earth (BLUE) (should also be able to add to pin 4 instead)
Pin 4 Screen/earth (SHIELD)
The rest are unused.

PS
It is not recommended to place the plug into the radio jack for use as a "Holder" while soldering wires.
Be careful not to solder your fingers together.

KD8DEY first I appreciate the layout that was Exactly what I was asking for .
second the Echo-max 2000 is a great audio mic yes all the 11 meter junkies aw wait I was one for 20 years as most other hams at one time or another. Usually way over crank these Mic's and it has given them a bad name buy using the mic properly is is a great mic for tweaking your voice and even helps those with speech impediments of different kinds and the use like I do of the 5 tone roger beep really helps to put you in the ear of someone in poor conditions where you might be missed like those busy pileups. as long as you exercise a little respect.
I have two of them in 9.5 out of 10 condition and plugs made to fit 1/2 a dozen radios. And yes finally the more money you can save buy using what you have the better. If I had to buy my shack and all my gear new I would have spent about 25,00 dollars instead through a little trading here and there and some ingenuity I have about 2 maybe 3 thousand in it.in the last 25 years

thanks everyone for the help and remember
