View Full Version : Where's The PSK Stations?

Yesterday evening, for the first time in a long time, I set up for PSK. I listened on 80, 40, 30 and 20 meters and heard noting except the beacon station on 30. Last time I used PSK, 40 and 20 were so crowded I decided 30 was the better choice.

Where's every one at. Has PSK lost it's popularity?

Give 14.070 a try.

Seems just as popular as ever, when I was on it the other day.

Do you have a decent antenna? I just checked, and there are 3 PSK QSO's going on on 20 meters...

Yes, I have a good antenna. A ZeroFive 33 ft. with an SG-230 coupler.

I'm listening on 20 as I type and hear nothing. At the moment, I'm using the SuperBrowser in DM-780.

Considering the comments so far I'm guessing it's just been the luck of the draw. I'll listen through out the day and see what I find.

Boy do I feel silly and my face is red. I wasn't in the digital mode. Your comment triggered my checking.

Don't feel bad, real easy to overlook something...:)

If I ever get around to putting up a wire maybe I will catch you on the band.

I think band conditions are a bit hinky right now. There really isn't much activity on the waterfall, and those I can copy are spotty.

Get on 20 meters, earlier today when I turned the rig on there were more stations I could ever dream of working.

Hi
Do not feel bad you should have seen the egg on my face when I had problems with my signalink interface and it was because I did not push the mike and speaker jack in far enough. I was talking to signalink for help. OUCH

I was just on 14,070 and it is wall to wall with signals, so much so that the walls have been pushed back a bit! :D

Also many signals on and about 14,076 for JT-65 operation some rtty up around 14,080... band looks okay to me.

I am using a home built 1/4 wave ground plane for 20 meters so no big beam here. My software, MixW 2.19, and sg-jt65-hf.
