Folks.... Just got a good deal on the Perth Plus Outbacker antenna to use for Field Day. It was used but did not come with instructions. Can anyone recommend a web site that would have the instructions?
Also does anyone have any experience with the Tripod /gound coupler mount system that Alpha Delta Coms sells. Thanks for your help.

Easy question.
Alpha Delta is the import distributor for Outbacker (AUS) antennas in the USA. The instructions you need can be found on the Alpha Delta web site:

As for the Alpha Delta OUTPOST (counterpoise mount for Outbacker antennas), I have owned one and the OUTREACH antenna that it sits on for over 7 years. Works well on my third floor patio (and approved by building owners). At $ 199 it is not cheap - but does a great job and allos me to quickly take down the Outreach antenna - and leave the Outpost on the patio.

Ive had my stealth plus about a year. It sits on the roof of my corrolla. I can still get in the carport with it there. I use a Lakeview magnetic mount, with 4 magnets on the corners of an H shaped aluminum support. I also use a
Lakeview matching coil at the base of it. This let's me get a closer match on any given band. My choice of mobile rig is the Ten Tec Scout at 50 watts. Ive done nicely with this antenna and cannot discern the difference w/ other mobile whips. So the compactness and ruggedness of this antenna is appreciated. The advantage of roof mounting a mobile antenna is the one boost to my mobile efforts that pays off nicely. Attempts at mounting the antenna on the trunk lip or the rear bumper result in much less performance and noise from the fuel pump on the lower bands. Up on the roof, just over the back seats results in quieter, less directional performance. Non hams have referred to my setup as 'burley.' Now just how many antenna setups evoke that kind of response?

I picked up one of the "Tripods with the ground coupling system" a couple of weeks ago to use with my RV. #I use this tripod with ham sticks and they seem to work great. #On 10 through 20M all is great and the radio hears really great. On 17M the combination of a ham stick and the tripod seems to be magic.
On 40M the capacitive coupling to ground gets a little thin and there are problems tuning the radio. #(the tuning actually changes as you modulate) #Because of this problem I wouldn't recommend it's use on any band below twenty. #
