http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif What about the shipping company good place to send Kudos, or Gripes, the United States Postal Service has those post cards or forms to file your gripes.
Did the Radio Arrive in one peice or did it look like the gorilla in the luggage commercial ?? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif lets shoot feedback on those problems and maybe someone can offer solutions, web site URL's even interesting , a package was open and was carried in by a contract driver, who was delivering it to the US Post office, so you wonder why was the box ripped and did the contractor damage the package ?
http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif lets post feedback here.

I must be one of the lucky few, never had a problem with ups or usps.
Those are the only two that i use for shipping,so i can't comment on other carrier's.

You're not alone. I have been using them, and FedEx for 25 years and better. In that time I have had one shipment totally lost (UPS, and it never was recovered.) Maybe two or three instances of damage due to questionable handling (inadequate packing is begging for trouble), and one or two instances of a shipment with a promised delivery time running late. I have also had USPS take 30+ days to move a non-expedited package from Dallas to a suburb, but at least it got there. Given the number of times that I haved used these guys for parcels, the success rate is still over 95%. As noted, USPS (and Canada Post) can both be criminally slow at times, unless the extra nickel is plopped down to get their attention.
If this is a matter of plain luck, I need an explanation as to why I haven't won the lottery . . .

The only times that I've experienced damaged shipped Ham Radio goods was when the items were poorly packed by the seller. Flimsy, well worn boxes with inadequate internal packing materials are usually the problem.
Observations: 1- Duct Tape is not a substitute for strong cardboard; 2- Crushed newspaper is not suitable internal packing for heavy objects; 3- Bubble wrap will not provide adequate protection if the box is flimsy; 4- double boxing is now required and is a good idea for heavy, bulky items; 5- The damage to some of the items that we ship can never be properly repaired or replaced; 6- It all comes down to common sense.
Some freight damage is caused by the delivery service. I've experienced this in my family's Furniture business. Sometimes a piece will arrive from the manufacturer with obvious freight damage. These items were properly packed. The delivery services are quick to pay these claims.
Shipping damage is unfortunate, and these services are trying to improve their reliability. After all, it costs them money to deal with the damage claims, even if they refuse to pay.
I'm thankful that UPS is being more stringent in monitoring the proper packing of the boxes that they receive. I'm proud of the items that I ship, and I want them to arrive undamaged.

I have recently shipped about 80 items through USPS and FedEx. Priority Mail packages have taken as long as two weeks to cross the country and one package to Canada never arrived. For some unknown reason a Priority Mail package took three weeks to arrive from Alabama! (next state over) It was postmarked so i know it was shipped as promised.
I have not had any items broken in shipment thus far but I always insure my packages. Fedex Ground will be a good service when they finally get it setup like the air service, but for now every shipment requires personal contact to straighten out the billing.
I recently ordered a new callsign. The payment was mailed first class from Augusta GA to the FCC in Atlanta, GA the same day. Strangely enough, it took 14 days to arrive at the FCC office which, needless to say, canceled my order for my callsign. I could have walked to Atlanta, delivered the letter by hand and walked home in that amount of time.
At this time if I had to go to the post office to ship something, i would likely be the one to go Postal, rather than the employees.
Maybe the problem is temporary and hopefully it is over. But right not, I don't like the Post Office.

My experience as a courier, and shipping since.
Package as if a gorilla was going to sort it, you might be surprised on this one.
If you ship FedEx, use express. Ground is what used to be RPS, and FedEx bought them to compete with UPS. I had a package live in Seattle for 28 days that was shipped ground.
UPS is reliable, and rarely will screw up.
Airborne is pricey, but extremely reliable.
I use UPS.
And, you can't do priority mail outside of the US. Can't, no way around it.
