I can't seem to connect to Echolink anymore. It was set up just fine, then today I can't seem to connect. The connection keeps on timing out.
I am hooked up to a router, it is a WGR614v7. I have the port forwarding enabled, as well as Windows Firewall to allow echolink to connect.
Am I missing something?
Go to your router http://192.168.1.1 enter your info. If none try
Login: Admin
Password: password
Once logged in choose port forwarding/port triggering from the menu on the right.
If you already have a Echolink custom service, click on it and check to make sure that ports 5198 and 5199 are fowarding to the correct IP address to your computer from the router. If your connecting wireless the IP that the router assigns your computer can change and that is a possible reason that you can't connect to echolink.
Click "ADD CUSTOM SERVICE" and fill out the following
Service Name: Echolink
Service Type: TCP/UDP
Starting Point: 5198
Ending Point: 5199
Server IP Address 192.168.1.xxx (repleace xxx with the last part of your IP address to your computer from the router. You can find it in the control panel>network settings>properties)
Click APPLY

Thanks! It works now! Works great considering i'm a struggling college student who all he has is a laptop, and an HT for the time being. Although I am saving for a QRP rig (i'm a QRP kind of guy.. if it does the job.. i'm happy!)

Eric
