You've probably heard of Windows 2000 and are wondering what the
difference is. Well, there's a lot of difference. Windows
2000 is a decent operating system which is really the current
version of what used to be called Windows NT. I recommend
Windows 2000 to anybody who want's a stable Windows platform
that doesn't crash. All of my regular Windows 95/98 programs
run on it with no problems. QRZ Runs on it too.
Windows ME, on the other hand, should have been called Windows 98
Version 3.0 because that's what it really is. The marketing people
at Micro$oft figured that this would make it sound old and clunky
(which it is) and so they decided to freshen it up with a new name.
So, the next time you hear someone say that they're running Windows
2000, Millenium Edition, you can correct them, and thank
Bill Gates for trying to pull another fast one.
My personal preference score (on a 1 to 10 scale):

Windows 98/SR2 - 7.1
Windows ME - 7.2
Window 2000 - 9.0
