Well, the day has finally arrived to begin testing of the QRZ Logbook.

It's been a labor of love for the past 5 months and now more than 10,000 lines of program code. I wish that I had a staff of programmers to help with the testing and quality control, but alas I'm the only squirrel in this cage. So, rather than continue the project without outside input, I've decided to release it for an initial review while, frankly, parts of it are still under construction.

Think of it as the way a new home builder will show you a house under construction. At this point, I have the 4 walls, the roof, and most of the plumbing and electrical done. It may still be a while before we do the carpeting and furniture, however.

One of the things about being a single software developer is that you are blind to things that others see right away. Questions like "where's the button for this?", or "how do I do that?", just don't happen to me because I KNOW where they are. That's why I need people to give it a try and tell me what they think - good or bad. It's a very important part of the process and one which has served QRZ well for many years.

I have a lot of cool features yet in mind for the system but at this point I'm reluctant to talk about them because there are certainly more than I can deliver in a reasonable time frame. I just hate to disappoint people that way. It's much more satisfying to just deliver things when they're ready, but, that runs the risk of again, operating in a vacuum.

I'm sure that there will be a lot of questions and I'll do my best to answer them here in this forum as they come up. I'm in no mood for commentary, however, that doesn't deal strictly with the subject matter at hand in this forum. Constructive criticism is welcomed but snide remarks are not. I'm simply going to delete the things that aren't helpful so that we can all concentrate on the work at hand. There is plenty of it.

So with that, thanks and Welcome to the QRZ Logbook!

What are the minimum system requirements?

The minimum system requirements are an internet connection and a working browser that supports Javascript.

It would be rare that it would not work on your system. All browsers now support Javascript, unless it's been turned off by the user.
