For shack use, are you all using the foam windscreen, or leaving it off? Any performance difference?

I have a GM-4 and I use the foam windscreen mostly to keep the element clean as I live in a dusty climate. I don't see a performance difference. Using the W2IHY EQPlus I talk a few inches away from the mic and hear no difference in loudness or clarity.

Irrespective of whatever type of equipment you're using behind the mic, a wind screen does help. It does the job of keeping the sound of your breath from being transmitted along with your spoken words.
