Pending the issuance of my vanity callsign W4EKI, I have taken the liberty of signing on to QRZ.com as my late grandfather. I never really knew what "Easy King Ida" was supposed to mean, but those are dignified letters nonetheless.
Sadly, most of his equipment "got away", but the best treasure will be coming in the mail from the FCC. It will be a big day when I finally get to call out those letters on the air.
When I was little, he used to send me downstairs to warm up the rig while he finished reading the newspaper. But I don't have to give you any details about Grandpapa for you to understand why I'm writing this, do I?
