Here's a "what if" scenario that I've been thinking about, and it's been brought on by the recent acquisition of a pair of TS-940S transceivers:
The -940 doesn't have a built-in sub-receiver but it does support ANT/Mute connections for an external unit on its rear panel. Seeing that I've got a couple of R-5000s in the shack, I wondered about setting them up with companion '940's then using one of the popular rig-control programs to allow me to slave the receiver to the transceiver - or vice versa.
There are times when a second receiver comes in handy when chasing stuff around the bands and upon finding something worthwhile, a "point and click" sync of the transceiver would be very useful.
Has anyone fooled around with this kind of setup? I know that one of the popular software packages aimed at the TenTec Jupiter/RX-340 will support the functionality I'm after but I'm curious as to whether HRD does it - and with which type of rigs.
