It's with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Ben Zarfoss W3GES.

Ben passed away late last evening. He was first licensed in 1934 and was an
avid CW-QRT operator.

I didn't know Ben for very long but I considered him a friend. He was always ready to help out a new guy with discussions about QRP and radio things in general. We will miss his hamfest traffic on our local 2M net. The last I talked to him he commented how he had a good life and enjoyed himself with ham radio and CW QRP especially. Sorry his "string ran out" as he put it.
